Like a pot about to boil...
Like a pot about to boil...

it's about to happen.. I can sense it. Something....Evidenced by the proliferation of online social networks, it seems that a transformation is about to happen again. The smartphone long hailed as the next gen wallet you can talk to has finally broken the leash that once tied you to a static internet connection. No longer are you forced to wait till you are seated in front of a laptop or desktop computer to update your social status, you can now get it on the go. Mobile computing - enter the ipad, the first of soon many to come tablets, which enable you to do more - easily. Not to say the laptop isn't mobile... but it will become fast obsolete like those first army issue cellular phones.

yeah? so tell you something you don't know already?

Well, now that its so easy to do more while mobile and communicate virally through the social networks, artists once only accessible through controlled media outlets can now reach and market themselves within their niche very effectively. The major labels couldn't do it better and the power shift is in effect. Artists and independents are now producing their product with the same efficiacy as before when the majors were in control, but at a much reduced expense. Artists are now updating their fanbase with up to the minute news about whats going on in their lives. Fans can now link to just the content they want and filter out the rest. Very concentrated marketing..Interaction has always been key and now it seems it might bring some dynamics back to the game.

Lets keep our fingers crossed....
