Y'kno... I tried... i wished for a kinder, gentler, exceptionally patient New Year... but the crap starts already. How come some people have no concept of time and it's value? Don't they know that time = money? Are they that loaded that they can waste so much of it and have no respect for the time of others? This "I want it now but mi soon come" attitude coupled with the "'round that time" perspective does not work for a service oriented business. Jamaica seems to be somewhat service challenged (the concept of which is that to serve is beneath many - yet many expect to receive service either free or grossly discounted). I still have clients who continually waste time - I don't care if they waste their time - I do care about mine. So even after briefing clients on company policy, I'm back to 'copping an attitude' when the client walks in nearly two hours late - 'works' (ha) for three hours and then wants to pay for only two. They don't realize that I've lost the two hours I used sitting around waiting on them and they owe me for five. Then I have to waste more time explaining to them that they don't get any material released until they pay for the wasted time. As tempers flare (as they try to intimidate) they then have the nerve to tell me I must "cool off - a nuh big ting" and actually have the audacity to try 'dis' me in my own place?

Luckily they seem to remember that they still have to pass my 'enforcers' on the way out.

I already discount my rates for clients and they still try to squeeze more out of you. And while they act like they have money to throw around and boast about the ability to 'hire' me, I try to suggest to them ways of better spend their money - like going to music school and learn something instead of using their money to perpetrate a fraud and fake it.

Makes me want to shut the biz down - to them at least.
